Jio cinema has tied up with Disney to provide a dedicated section on Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucas films and entertainment to Its over 250 million subscribers.
“...the app will host a dedicated Disney branded section on the homepage with content spanning across movies, animation, series and shorts,” said the Mukesh Ambani owned company in a statement Thursday.
The oil-to-telecom business house is betting big on content and is banking such tie ups to get more customers for its telecom unit. Through Disney’s association Jio users can get access to stories ranging from Disney Classics, Pixar animation, movies from Marvel and Star Wars along with other international as well as locally created content.
JioCinema is an on-demand video streaming platform and is in competition with entertainment app of Bharti Airtel. Telcos are vying for more exclusive tie ups in entertainment , sports , news to attract more subscribers .
